Ralph was bom and raised in the
Kansas City, Missouri area. After
graduating from North Kansas City
High School, Ralph entered Park
College and after one year transferred to San Jose State, where he
earned his degree. After college,
Ralph enlisted in the Navy and was
accepted into Officer’s Candidate
School and spent the next 32 years
serving his country in duty assignments of increasing responsibility.
During his distinguished Naval career, Ralph was twice awarded the Legion
of Merit, one of our nations highest military awards. He retired from the
Navy in 1983 with the rank of Captain, and moved to Warner in 1987.
He quickly became involved in community activities, first serving on the
School District Budget Survey Committee, and then the School Budget
Committee. In 1992, Ralph became a Selectman and in addition to the
official duties that go with the job, he became the carpenter, painter,
electrician, gardener, janitor, cook and bottle washer for the Town buildings. In 1997, Ralph took the leadership position in leading the drive to
