The following pages are not intended to show the
full exploits of Shelby County in the Civil War, but
rather to show a particular company's participation in
the war. I will follow some of their marches from the
time they enlisted into the United States Army until
they return to Cairo, Illinois three years later. At
that time the regiment was reorganized with considerably changed personnel,
I have prepared a company sketch, showing their
