ANTIOCH - The Village of
Antioch and Antioch Township had
a lot of celebrate April 19, and it was
all in the name of Tim Osmond.
Residents, as well as village and
township officials, gathered for the
dedication and opening ceremony of
the Tim Osmond Sports Complex, an
80-acre park.
, The sports complex, which Is oil
Depot Street, recently completed
phase one of the four-phase project,
and everyone seemed thrilled about
it at the ceremony.
“The dedication was wonderful,”
Antioch Village President Dorothy
Larson said. “There were so many
people from the community that are
just family people that are thrilled
that we’re going to have these type of
athletic field for the kids to play
sports in."
The complex is named after late
State Rep. Timothy H. Osmond, who
died in 2002.
"It is a great name for the park,”
Larson said.
■ According to a release for the village, the township and village have
been working on this project for the
past five years.
