Upon the escutcheon is placed a helmet befitting his degree, with a mantling gules and or; and for his Crest, on a wreath of the colours, on a rock a stag’s head couped both proper, gorged with a collar engrailed vair, holding in his mouth a padlock gules; with the Motto, “ Non nobis solum.” Married, March 6, 1872, Isabella Maria, only daughter of John Sherlock Paterson of Magherafelt, in the county of Derry, and Castle Wellan, in the county of Down, is the Naval Cockade.
